Now Showing "Animal Encounters" at the MSA Gallery
The Animal Encounter opening was cause for celebration for all of the artists who entered this juried show but especially for Kathleen Hall who's oil painting"Displacement 1" took Best in Show, for Ryan Bachman (second place) for his photograph, "To Dust" and for Elizabeth Kelley (third place) for her painting, Deer II. Thank you for all of the incredible submissions and to those who attended making it a special evening.
We Have Some Great Camps and Teen Studio  Nights scheduled for Summer 2012!

Main Street Art is offering five sessions of fun and inspiring camps this June, July, and August that will certainly get your creative juices flowing.  Ages 5-8 in our morning camps and 9-11 in the afternoon.  On Tuesday evenings check out our teen studio nights for ages 12 and up, learn metal jewelry, bead making, tie dye, or sculpting.

  • New Classes and Workshops! for Spring 2 Session May 7th - June 16th check them out here!
  • Community mural project Animal Encounters to be headed up by artist in residence Juillian Richard.  Main Street Art is offering 3 free sessions open to the public to come paint, stamp, stencil, or mosaic our animal inspired mural.  All paint, materials, and art instruction supplied by MSA.  This project is best suited for ages 5 years through 88 years.  Please wear your old clothing. 
  • Session dates are Saturday May 5th 12-3pm, May 12 9am-Noon, Sunday May 20th 10am-noon. 


 

MSA Board and Committee Members Needed.

  • Immediate need for board officer to fill Treasurer position.  CPA / nonprofit experience a plus.
  • Seeking persons interested in joining MSA to work on the Marketing, Teaching and Artist Advisory Committees. Please email your interest to mainstreetart@newfieldsart.org.
MSA Upcoming Events Calendar:
  • Portsmouth photographer John Benford’s series, "Grounding: Small New England Farms" is returning to Blue Moon Evolution in Exeter for a two month exhibit in April and May featuring farms that provide produce and other ingredients for the restaurant
  • May 4th Animal Encounters Gallery hours are Saturdays from 12-3PM through June 9TH.
  • High School Senior Show.  Featuring work of graduating seniors pursuing art education.  Apply if interested.  Opening June 15 5-7pm
  • Landscape Painting Show. Paired exhibit in which Jessie Thomas and Liz Wilson demonstrate their unique interpretations of same scenes.  Opening August 3, 5-7pm
  • Yin & Yang, black and white images from the members of the Seacoast Photographers Association.  Opening Sept 14, 5-7pm.
