BIG, BOLD, BRIGHT!

MSA is embracing Stem to Steam in our 2013 Spring Community Art project- Big, Bold and Bright. Artists, Kirsten Reynolds and Sam Paolini are offering
4 absolutely free workshops on:

Saturdays May 11th,18th, June 1st & 8th from 10-12 PM.
Please come and learn about installation art and help create a large, colorful sculpture to be enjoyed by the public throughout the summer.
Call ahead to let us know you are coming at 580-5835.

New Art Show "Local Color"featuring the paintings of Alan Rushing at the MSA Gallery!

Main Street Art is pleased to present the paintings of Newmarket artist:

Alan Rushing

at an Opening Reception Friday, May 3RD from 5:30-7:30 PM

In this exciting and colorful display, Alan will be exhibiting a number of paintings that focus on urban and natural landscapes using oils, acrylic and gouache.


Gallery hours are Monday and Friday from 10:30-2:30PM, Wednesday 12:00-4:00PM and whenever the OPEN flag is out.
The show runs through June 8th.

Funding for the BIG, BOLD, BRIGHT Community Project was provided by the Thomas W. Haas Fund of the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation.
The New Hampshire Charitable Foundation manages a growing collection of charitable funds created by individuals, families and businesses. It awards $30 million annually in grants and scholarships. Based in Concord, the foundation roots itself in the communities through regional advisory boards, serving communities throughout New Hampshire, southeastern Maine and eastern Vermont.  More information is available at www.nhcf.org or by calling 603-224-6641.

  • Main Street Art is a non profit community organization committed to making art education accessible to children and adults and is currently seeking individuals who have a passion for art to serve on Marketing and Programming committees with an ambition to eventually participate on the Board of Directors. Main Street Art committee and board appointments are working positions which require enthusiasm, a personable nature and a flexible schedule.   • 2013 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards for the Alliance for Young Artists & Writers can be viewed from Carnegie Hall in NY in a webcast on May 31st at 6:00pm.  Access the account at www.artandwriting.org/registration. All are encouraged to see the national winners for this prestigious award ceremony. Congratulations to Colby Fream a local highschool artist who received national recognition!

  • Attention Newfields Residents - With funding from The Friends of the Newfields Library, the library now has an annual membership to the Boston Museum of Fine Arts! Stop in today to pick up your passes which give you a $15 discount on two adult tickets. Check out www.mfa.org for what's happening at the MFA.


  • Artists' Collaborative Theatre of New England presents Make Sure It's Me a play by Kate Wenner. Make Sure It's Me is a fictionalized account of five Iraq War Veterens coping with traumatic brain injury. It runs June 1-2, 7-9 and 21-23 at West End Studio Theatre in Portsmouth, NH.
